ILENE GRUBER ADAMS | ART

Ilene earned her BFA from Tyler School of Art at Temple University, studying painting, printmaking, and graphic design, including a formative year studying art in Rome. She continued her education at the School of Visual Arts in New York with renowned designer Milton Glaser and pursued graduate studies in marketing and business at Harvard University.​Before returning to her artistic roots, Ilene founded and operated the nation's first all-female radio marketing company, developing it into a nationally recognized multimillion-dollar business over more than two decades. After relocating to Florida, she established a successful branding and marketing agency while becoming an influential advocate for the regional arts community.​Her artistic practice has evolved from photography and representational mixed media into expressive, large-scale abstraction. Drawing on her background in graphic design, printmaking, and photography, she incorporates bold pigments, Venetian plaster, gold leaf, image transfers, and unconventional materials to create richly layered compositions.​Recent solo exhibitions include Chromatic Convergence: An Abstract Odyssey at Palm Beach Gardens City Hall, The Secret Journey: Abstract Realms at Gallery 14 in Vero Beach, and an exhibition at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Her upcoming solo exhibition, Part of the Whole, at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, January 29–March 13, 2027, will highlight her exploration of nature and interconnectedness through her bird series.Her work has appeared in juried exhibitions at the Cornell Art Museum, the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, and other South Florida venues. She has received awards in Artists of Palm Beach County exhibitions, including recognition in the 2026 Members' Show and the 20/20 Vision exhibition. In 2025, she was accepted into the Florida Artists Group. Miles Gallery in Jupiter and the Palm Beach Art Collective represent her work.An active arts advocate and community leader, Ilene has served on the boards of Artists of Palm Beach County, ArtSynergy, and Wellington Art Society, as well as an advisor to the City of West Palm Beach's Cultural Affairs Committee. She has curated numerous exhibitions, served as a juror for ArtiGras and many other arts organizations, is a member of the Florida Artists Group, and developed educational programs helping artists navigate the business of art.​She is also a co-founder of Studio on 10th, a collaborative artist studio in Lake Park, Florida.Through her artwork, exhibitions, and community leadership, Ilene continues to explore art's transformative power to inspire, connect, and enrich the human experience.
